What is Whack-a-Bot?
Whack-a-Bot rewards selecting the correct target rather than hitting every visible object. Blue bots are useful targets, while decoys must be left alone. A short moment of recognition is therefore part of every successful response.
The board changes according to timed prompts. Once you have answered one opportunity, extra clicks cannot turn it into additional objectives.
Rules and controls
- Locate the active bot and check its color/type.
- Hit a blue bot while its prompt is active.
- Do not hit a decoy; waiting for the next prompt is the correct response.
- Read the new cell when the board changes instead of returning automatically to the previous location.
Tap or click the active grid cell. Keyboard focus and button activation remain available.
Scoring and rewards
Valid blue-bot hits increase objective coverage. Decoy hits and missed useful prompts count against precision. The reward benchmark counts useful prompts rather than requiring interaction with every decoy.
Points and XP scale with objective performance, precision, and round length. At full reward performance, a 30-second round earns up to 20 base points and 30 XP. Each level gained adds a 0.1% point bonus. Guest practice has no reward balance.
For eligible rewarded rounds, points remain pending until the sponsored claim’s 12 seconds of focused time and fresh hCaptcha are complete. No ad click or purchase is required.
How difficulty changes
Prompt periods become shorter at higher daily difficulty. You need to recognize the target type earlier, while preserving enough time for an accurate grid selection.
Difficulty increases after every three starts of this game during a UTC day, up to level 10, and resets at 00:00 UTC. Your player level and its point bonus are separate from the game’s daily difficulty.
Strategy
Build a repeatable approach
Look at the bot before moving your hand. A rapid incorrect hit is less useful than a slightly later correct choice.
Improve your next attempt
After each hit, return your attention to the whole board. Searching only near the previous cell can hide the next target.
A worked round
- A coral decoy appears in the center cell.
- Leave it untouched and watch for the board to change.
- When a blue bot appears in another cell, select that cell once.
Common mistakes
- Clicking before checking whether the bot is a decoy.
- Repeatedly tapping an already-used prompt.
- Watching one favorite cell instead of scanning the board.

How should I interpret my result?
The score summarizes this game’s objectives and mistakes. Reward performance is calculated against this game’s own objective benchmark, then scaled by round length. Review the base points and level bonus on your claim receipt.
