What is Asteroid Dodge?
Asteroid Dodge is a compact navigation puzzle played on a star field. Your position must avoid incoming hazards while moving toward stars. Successful play balances collection with preserving an escape route.
Because hazards are scheduled, a square that is safe now can become dangerous by the time you arrive. Read movement and future danger together rather than treating the board as a static maze.
Rules and controls
- Use the movement controls to change grid position.
- Reach star opportunities to collect them.
- Avoid occupied or approaching hazard positions.
- Continue responding throughout the round; passive safe-cell survival is not the reward objective.
Use the on-screen directional controls or the arrow-key movement shortcuts.
Scoring and rewards
Stars are credited objectives. Collisions count as mistakes. The displayed survival score is separate from reward coverage, which compares collected stars with the actual available star events.
Points and XP scale with objective performance, precision, and round length. At full reward performance, a 45-second round earns up to 30 base points and 45 XP. Each level gained adds a 0.1% point bonus. Guest practice has no reward balance.
For eligible rewarded rounds, points remain pending until the sponsored claim’s 12 seconds of focused time and fresh hCaptcha are complete. No ad click or purchase is required.
How difficulty changes
Higher daily difficulty increases the pressure from the event schedule. More frequent decisions reduce the value of long pauses on a seemingly safe square.
Difficulty increases after every three starts of this game during a UTC day, up to level 10, and resets at 00:00 UTC. Your player level and its point bonus are separate from the game’s daily difficulty.
Strategy
Build a repeatable approach
Choose a nearby safe square before committing to a star. A route with an exit is more reliable than the shortest route into a crowded area.
Improve your next attempt
Watch the next event while moving. Your previous destination can become unsafe before the input sequence is finished.
A worked round
- A star appears across the grid while a hazard threatens the direct route.
- Move around the threatened square rather than crossing it.
- Collect the star and keep a neighboring safe position available for the next event.
Common mistakes
- Navigating only by current positions and ignoring approaching hazards.
- Assuming staying still earns full reward because the raw score rises.
- Collecting a star without checking the next safe move.
Questions
Which controls should I use?
Use the on-screen directional controls or the arrow-key movement shortcuts.
How should I interpret my result?
The score summarizes this game’s objectives and mistakes. Reward performance is calculated against this game’s own objective benchmark, then scaled by round length. Review the base points and level bonus on your claim receipt.
