What is Comet Catch?

Three collectors wait beneath a drifting constellation. Each approaching comet belongs to one lane, and its bright arrival ring tells you when to catch it. This is a catching game about matching position and arrival time together, rather than parking a basket in one place.

Comet Catch is a 45-second game built around correctly timed catches in the comet lane. The round keeps running after an error, so use the next opportunity to recover. Your best improvement comes from learning the board rather than pressing the controls faster.

Rules and controls

  1. Tap one of the three lane pads, or press 1, 2, or 3. A tap commits a catch for the current comet. Wait until the comet enters the blue arrival band before choosing its lane; an early grab cannot be corrected for that comet.
  2. Follow the comet from the top of the board toward the collector line. The lane stays fixed during its descent. A comet can be caught only once, and the next comet begins on its own schedule even if the previous catch missed.
  3. Controls are available on the game board as well as the listed keyboard shortcuts. Keyboard controls apply while the game stage is focused; they do not take over account forms or page navigation. During the countdown, watch the starting position and prepare your first move.
Controls

Use the controls displayed above the playfield. Touch buttons and keyboard shortcuts are shown before the round begins.

Scoring and rewards

Each correctly timed lane catch adds one successful objective and 120 arcade points. A wrong lane, an early or late catch, or an uncollected expired comet records a miss. Extra tapping within the same comet is ignored by the controls.

The displayed arcade score describes this game, while reward performance uses comets caught against a duration-specific benchmark. Longer rounds have a larger base budget. Mistakes reduce precision, and the level bonus applies afterward. Waiting on a finished opportunity cannot create extra objectives or points.

Points and XP scale with objective performance, precision, and round length. At full reward performance, a 45-second round earns up to 30 base points and 45 XP. Each level gained adds a 0.1% point bonus. Guest practice has no reward balance.

For eligible rewarded rounds, points remain pending until the sponsored claim’s 12 seconds of focused time and fresh hCaptcha are complete. No ad click or purchase is required.

How difficulty changes

Higher difficulties shorten the interval between comets and tighten the arrival window. The three lane positions remain stable, so the challenge is reading a quicker descent rather than finding new controls.

Difficulty rises with repeated daily attempts, then follows the daily reset. A later difficulty changes the challenge rather than extending the timer. Read the live board again when the pace changes; a memorized button rhythm can stop matching the next opportunity.

Difficulty increases after every three starts of this game during a UTC day, up to level 10, and resets at 00:00 UTC. Your player level and its point bonus are separate from the game’s daily difficulty.

Strategy

Read before acting

Keep your eyes near the arrival band while using the upper trail to identify the lane. Move your attention to the next comet as soon as the current catch is committed.

Recover deliberately

After an early catch, release the controls and wait for the next comet. Repeatedly hitting the same pad cannot repair an already resolved catch and makes it harder to see the new lane.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

A worked Comet Catch sequence

  1. A comet appears above the right collector. Track its descent instead of immediately pressing the right pad.
  2. When its center enters the arrival band, press 3 once. The collector flashes and the successful-catch total increases.
  3. The next comet arrives in the left lane. Reset your attention, wait for its band crossing, and press 1.

Common mistakes

  • Choosing the correct lane while the comet is still far above the collector is an early catch, so position alone is insufficient.
  • Following the previous comet’s lane without looking at the new trail can turn a steady rhythm into repeated wrong-lane grabs.

Questions

What exactly counts as a successful objective?

The comet must be in its arrival window and the chosen collector must match its lane. Both conditions belong to that individual comet.

What should I do after a mistake?

Let the resolved comet pass, then use the next trail as a fresh cue. A single missed comet does not end the round.

Can I earn a full result by leaving the game open?

No. Comet Catch credits only correctly timed catches in the comet lane produced by fresh, valid inputs. An idle board may continue its animation, but it does not complete those objectives for you. Practice is available without an account; reward points require signed-in rewarded play and the claim checks.

Ready to put it into practice?

Try one focused round, then use the result to choose one thing to improve.
