What is Number Dash?
Number Dash is a sequence of small arithmetic problems with multiple-choice answers. Its challenge comes from switching operations quickly and staying accurate while the prompt clock becomes shorter.
The answer choices include plausible nearby values. Estimating the size of the result before selecting a choice helps catch subtraction signs and multiplication mistakes that a rushed glance would miss.
Rules and controls
- Read both numbers and the operation before choosing an answer.
- Select one of the four proposed results.
- After feedback, a new problem starts; an old answer position has no special meaning.
- If the timer expires, refocus on the new question instead of finishing the old calculation.
Tap an answer or use keys 1–4. Buttons are the clearest option when learning the game’s layout.
Scoring and rewards
Correct calculations provide objective coverage and build the displayed streak. Wrong answers and expirations count as misses. Raw score bonuses for speed do not change the underlying points-per-minute cap.
Points and XP scale with objective performance, precision, and round length. At full reward performance, a 45-second round earns up to 30 base points and 45 XP. Each level gained adds a 0.1% point bonus. Guest practice has no reward balance.
For eligible rewarded rounds, points remain pending until the sponsored claim’s 12 seconds of focused time and fresh hCaptcha are complete. No ad click or purchase is required.
How difficulty changes
Daily difficulty shortens the available response time and introduces more demanding arithmetic, including multiplication. The reward reference accounts for the slower reasoning expected for harder calculations.
Difficulty increases after every three starts of this game during a UTC day, up to level 10, and resets at 00:00 UTC. Your player level and its point bonus are separate from the game’s daily difficulty.
Strategy
Build a repeatable approach
Estimate first, calculate second. For subtraction, checking which number is larger prevents an immediate sign or direction error.
Improve your next attempt
Prefer a reliable calculation over a rapid guess. A brief pause can preserve both precision and the next streak.
A worked round
- The prompt asks 7 × 6 and offers four nearby results.
- Recall or calculate 42 before scanning the options.
- Choose 42 once, then release the key during the feedback interval.
Common mistakes
- Solving addition when the displayed operator is multiplication.
- Choosing the nearest-looking number without completing the calculation.
- Carrying an old answer forward after its prompt has expired.
Questions
Which controls should I use?
Tap an answer or use keys 1–4. Buttons are the clearest option when learning the game’s layout.
How should I interpret my result?
The score summarizes this game’s objectives and mistakes. Reward performance is calculated against this game’s own objective benchmark, then scaled by round length. Review the base points and level bonus on your claim receipt.
