What is Space Rescue?

A rescue ship starts at the center of a small sector. A stranded astronaut waits elsewhere, and the mission is complete only when the ship brings that passenger home. Fuel limits how long you can wander, so plan the outward route and the return together.

Space Rescue is a 60-second game built around astronaut pickups followed by deliveries to base. The round keeps running after an error, so use the next opportunity to recover. Your best improvement comes from learning the board rather than pressing the controls faster.

Rules and controls

  1. Move one grid square with the arrow keys or direction pads. Enter the astronaut’s square to pick them up, then return to the marked central base. The passenger indicator changes while someone is aboard, and each move uses one fuel unit.
  2. Corner rocks block movement. The base stays in the center, while each completed delivery places a new astronaut on a free square. A collision or exhausted fuel resets the ship and loses an undelivered passenger, but earlier rescues remain saved in the round.
  3. Controls are available on the game board as well as the listed keyboard shortcuts. Keyboard controls apply while the game stage is focused; they do not take over account forms or page navigation. During the countdown, watch the starting position and prepare your first move.

Scoring and rewards

A complete delivery adds one objective and 120 score. Reaching the astronaut without returning does not yet add a reward hit. Wall or rock collisions and fuel exhaustion record misses; ordinary travel adds neither score nor successful objectives.

The displayed arcade score describes this game, while reward performance uses astronauts delivered to base against a duration-specific benchmark. Longer rounds have a larger base budget. Mistakes reduce precision, and the level bonus applies afterward. Waiting on a finished opportunity cannot create extra objectives or points.

Points and XP scale with objective performance, precision, and round length. At full reward performance, a 60-second round earns up to 40 base points and 60 XP. Each level gained adds a 0.1% point bonus. Guest practice has no reward balance.

For eligible rewarded rounds, points remain pending until the sponsored claim’s 12 seconds of focused time and fresh hCaptcha are complete. No ad click or purchase is required.

How difficulty changes

Higher difficulty adds more corner obstacles. The fuel budget remains visible, making route efficiency and avoiding unnecessary detours increasingly important as the board fills.

Difficulty rises with repeated daily attempts, then follows the daily reset. A later difficulty changes the challenge rather than extending the timer. Read the live board again when the pace changes; a memorized button rhythm can stop matching the next opportunity.

Difficulty increases after every three starts of this game during a UTC day, up to level 10, and resets at 00:00 UTC. Your player level and its point bonus are separate from the game’s daily difficulty.

Strategy

Read before acting

Count a rough outward-and-return route before leaving base. If a pickup is four moves away, reserve at least four more moves for the return and avoid decorative detours.

Recover deliberately

When carrying a passenger, prioritize the base over the next empty square. After a reset, check the astronaut marker again instead of following a route whose target may have changed.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

A worked Space Rescue sequence

  1. The astronaut is two squares right and one square up from base. Fly Right, Right, Up along clear cells.
  2. The passenger indicator lights up. Reverse the route with Down, Left, Left to return to the central base.
  3. The delivery increases the rescue total, refills fuel, and reveals a new astronaut for the next mission.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming the pickup alone completes the mission leaves the passenger aboard and the reward objective unfinished.
  • Using all fuel on the outward trip causes a reset before delivery, even when the astronaut was successfully collected.

Questions

What exactly counts as a successful objective?

A rescue counts only when a ship carrying the current astronaut reenters the central base. Pickup and delivery belong to the same mission.

What should I do after a mistake?

The ship returns to base and a new mission is prepared. Earlier completed deliveries stay in the result, so plan the next fuel-efficient route calmly.

Can I earn a full result by leaving the game open?

No. Space Rescue credits only astronaut pickups followed by deliveries to base produced by fresh, valid inputs. An idle board may continue its animation, but it does not complete those objectives for you. Practice is available without an account; reward points require signed-in rewarded play and the claim checks.

Ready to put it into practice?

Try one focused round, then use the result to choose one thing to improve.
