What is Tunnel Flyer?

Your little flyer falls under gravity while tunnel gates approach from the right. Each flap gives a fresh upward impulse, and the openings change height. Keeping the ship in a useful corridor requires several small corrections rather than one long held command.

Tunnel Flyer is a 45-second game built around actively steered passages through tunnel openings. The round keeps running after an error, so use the next opportunity to recover. Your best improvement comes from learning the board rather than pressing the controls faster.

Rules and controls

  1. Tap Flap or press Space for an upward impulse. Gravity continuously brings the flyer down between taps. Several flaps may be used before a gate; keyboard autorepeat is ignored, so each impulse should be deliberate.
  2. The next opening is outlined in blue. Match your altitude to the opening before the gate reaches the ship. The ceiling and floor are hazards; contacting either resets your flight position and counts as a mistake.
  3. Controls are available on the game board as well as the listed keyboard shortcuts. Keyboard controls apply while the game stage is focused; they do not take over account forms or page navigation. During the countdown, watch the starting position and prepare your first move.
Controls

Use the controls displayed above the playfield. Touch buttons and keyboard shortcuts are shown before the round begins.

Scoring and rewards

A gate adds one successful passage only if the ship is inside its opening and you supplied a fresh flap since the previous gate. Collisions, missed openings, and leaving the permitted flight area add misses. Floating through a gate without new steering does not earn an objective.

The displayed arcade score describes this game, while reward performance uses actively navigated tunnel gates against a duration-specific benchmark. Longer rounds have a larger base budget. Mistakes reduce precision, and the level bonus applies afterward. Waiting on a finished opportunity cannot create extra objectives or points.

Points and XP scale with objective performance, precision, and round length. At full reward performance, a 45-second round earns up to 30 base points and 45 XP. Each level gained adds a 0.1% point bonus. Guest practice has no reward balance.

For eligible rewarded rounds, points remain pending until the sponsored claim’s 12 seconds of focused time and fresh hCaptcha are complete. No ad click or purchase is required.

How difficulty changes

Gates arrive more frequently at higher difficulty, and their openings narrow. Gravity and flap strength stay consistent, so the harder challenge is planning altitude changes with less recovery space.

Difficulty rises with repeated daily attempts, then follows the daily reset. A later difficulty changes the challenge rather than extending the timer. Read the live board again when the pace changes; a memorized button rhythm can stop matching the next opportunity.

Difficulty increases after every three starts of this game during a UTC day, up to level 10, and resets at 00:00 UTC. Your player level and its point bonus are separate from the game’s daily difficulty.

Strategy

Read before acting

Aim for the center of the next opening and begin correcting while it is still far away. A small upward impulse is easier to manage than several emergency flaps near the gate.

Recover deliberately

If the ship is rising quickly, allow gravity to slow it rather than pressing again. After a collision, reacquire the next opening and rebuild a steady flap rhythm.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

A worked Tunnel Flyer sequence

  1. The next opening is above your current flight path. Tap Flap once while the gate is still approaching.
  2. Watch the upward velocity decrease near the opening’s center, then let the ship coast into the gate.
  3. A lower opening follows. Wait longer before the next flap so gravity carries the ship downward first.

Common mistakes

  • Rapid taps near the ceiling can create an avoidable collision even when the next opening is high.
  • Waiting until a gate reaches the ship leaves no time to change altitude, because flaps affect velocity rather than teleporting the flyer.

Questions

What exactly counts as a successful objective?

The ship must cross inside the opening and have a new steering input in that gate interval. A gate crossed while idle is not credited.

What should I do after a mistake?

The ship is repositioned after a collision. Use the visible next opening to choose a controlled flap rather than continuing the previous emergency tapping.

Can I earn a full result by leaving the game open?

No. Tunnel Flyer credits only actively steered passages through tunnel openings produced by fresh, valid inputs. An idle board may continue its animation, but it does not complete those objectives for you. Practice is available without an account; reward points require signed-in rewarded play and the claim checks.

Ready to put it into practice?

Try one focused round, then use the result to choose one thing to improve.
